PDLC smart glass Lamination instruction

This article is to tell those don’t know how to laminated non-adhesive smart film with tempered glass, to make the smart glass finally.

* First we can see the structure combination as below.

* Now we start to combine the glass and smart film, the process as below:

1- Put one layer tempered glass, make sure clean the top surface;

2- Then put one layer EVA film, same size as the glass size. Make sure the EVA film is cleaned, without dust on it

3- Now is the important part, put the non-adhesive smart film on the EVA film, the smart film will need to be a little smaller than the glass size, in order to better protect the smart film. Since after laminatinon, the EVA film resin will seal the glass edge, and the smart film will be well protected

4- Then put another layer EVA film on the Smart film, make sure the EVA film is Cleaned without dust.

5- Last put another tempered glass, and use tape to bond the five layers togeter. ( Glass+ EVA film+ Smart film+ EVA film+ Glass)

6- Last please check again the whole combination above, checkif any black spot or any defect inside the combination. If it does have, then correct it, and move the black spot materials.

* Below are some notes to better help you understand the process.

1. Glass will need to be bigger than the PDLC smart film
2. Each side the glass will need to be 3mm bigger than the PDLC Film(As picture)
3. For Example:
Glass Size: 1000mm*2000mm, Then
PDLC Film size: 994mm*1994mm
4. In this way, glass can better protect the PDLC film after lamination, and the finished product will be more stable.

* Smart glass lamination process parameters( EVA 80-120)

Low temperature process parameter:
glass thickness (mm) 60℃ low temperature hold time 80℃ high temperature hold time
4+4mm 30 minute 70 minute
5+5mm 30 minute 70 minute
6+6mm 30 minute 75 minute
8+8mm 30 minute 80 minute
10+10mm 30 minute 90 minute

Note: Please laminating in low temperature process, because the insert PDLC film can not stand very high temperature. Or it will easy damage the PDLC film, we do not suggest lamination temperature higher than 120 degrees. If use our EVA 80-120 film, only after you process in 80 degrees well, then you can process in 120 degrees for better result.

Notice:
All the data are the test parameters just for reference. The final produce data depends on the customer data of your own after you test in your own factory.
